BROWN LOOKING MORE ISOLATED ON ECONOMIC GROWTH FIGURES - TAYLOR1.20.49pm UTC (GMT +0000) Thu 22nd May 2003
Commenting on this morning's CBI quarterly economic forecast, predicting growth of 2.5% in 2004, compared to a Treasury forecast of 3-3.5%, Matthew Taylor MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Chancellor, said: "Gordon Brown looks increasingly isolated with his optimistic growth forecasts. " "Today's CBI report simply adds to the pressure for the Chancellor to recognise reality and take real action to boost investment and growth if he wants to meet his tax and spending plans."
