Royal Mail Deal Inevitable

12.00.00am GMT Tue 10th Feb 2004

Royal Mail has struck a new agreement to deliver business mail once it has been collected and sorted by a private operator.

Commenting on the move, Malcolm Bruce MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow DTI Secretary, said: "This announcement was inevitable, as mail services become more liberalised at national and international levels."

"Royal Mail needs to be free to cut these sorts of deals to protect and promote delivery workers jobs."
