Directors Should be Accountable for Hatfield Crash - Lamb

3.50.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 6th Sep 2005

Commenting on today's verdict that Network Rail has been found guilty of breaching health and safety legislation over the Hatfield rail crash, Norman Lamb MP, Liberal Democrats Spokesperson for Trade and Industry said: "The successful prosecution of Network Rail is encouraging but it still remains far too difficult to sue companies for breaching health and safety rules.

"We need an urgent update of legislation and a system that would also holds the directors of such companies to account."
