Suggestions of Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation Welcome - Lamb

5.16.27pm GMT Tue 1st Nov 2005

Liberal Democrat Shadow DTI Secretary, Norman Lamb MP, today welcomed suggestions that the Government will introduce a renewable transport fuels obligation, paving the way for the sale of biofuel fuels at petrol stations.

Mr Lamb, who earlier today led a debate in the House of Commons on the issue, said:

"We are on the brink of a huge breakthrough on this issue.

"The Prime Minister's comments at the weekend, together with those of the Minister today in my debate, suggest that the UK will now get a renewable transport fuels obligation."
