Government can't hide incompetence on farm payments - Huhne

Responding to David Miliband's statement today, which admitted the Government missed the EU threshold for farm payments in England but may use the combined UK payment rate to avoid EU fines being imposed, Liberal Democrat Shadow Environment Secretary, Chris Huhne MP said:

"It is embarrassing that the Government is trying to hide their incompetence on English farm payments with the success of the devolved administrations.

"Whether or not the Government can dodge European fines, they have still failed to address the real cost and suffering caused by raised expectations and late payments."
