Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary, Norman Lamb MP

Responding to the Health Secretary's statement about the recent security breach on the Medical Training Application Service website, Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary, Norman Lamb MP said: "Every few days, more details emerge of this developing scandal.

"We now know that 6,000 graduates' personal details were accessible on the MTAS website. The Government is also unable to tell us if the security breach amounted to a criminal offence.

"This breach must be treated with the utmost seriousness. If criminal offences have been committed then action must be taken immediately.

"The medical profession have suffered enough and need their faith restored as a matter of urgency."
