Postal Strike Threatens Royal Mail's Future - Kramer3.18.34pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 7th Jun 2007 Commenting on the Communication Workers Union's (CWU) announcement that 77% of its members who voted backed a postal strike, Liberal Democrat Shadow Trade and Industry Secretary, Susan Kramer MP said: "This is bad news for people who depend on Royal Mail for essential services. "There is little that individual customers can do. However, businesses are likely to turn to rival companies, threatening Royal Mail's financial viability further. "A strike helps no one. Both sides must get straight back to the negotiating table."
