Liberal Democrats to seek constructive dialogue on wind power - Opik

11.05.00am GMT Sun 9th Dec 2007

Commenting on Government proposals to potentially power every home in Britain by wind energy by 2020, Liberal Democrat Shadow Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Secretary, Lembit Öpik MP said: "If John Hutton is signalling a change in policy towards real sustainable energy, he's taking a responsible and considered position.

"Until now, it has seemed as if the Government has been obsessed with a new generation of nuclear power stations despite all of the potential problems, costs and risks.

"The Liberal Democrats will now seek a constructive dialogue with Mr Hutton to explore potential areas of common purpose based on zero carbon technologies."
